24-HOUR DISNEY JUNIOR CHANNEL MARKS THREE YEARS

AS TV’S #1 PRESCHOOLER NETWORK

Disney Channel: 1Q 2016 Total Day

During first quarter 2016, Disney Channel ranked as TV’s #1 Total Day network for the 20th-consecutive quarter in Kids 6-11 (345,000/1.5 rating) and for the 28th-consecutive quarter in Tweens 9-14 (336,000/1.4 rating) – dates back to 2Q11 and 2Q09, respectively – powered by the cable premiere of Disney’s “Frozen,” live-action original series “Austin & Ally,” “K.C. Undercover” and “Liv and Maddie” and the launch of original comedy series “Stuck in the Middle.”

Disney Channel outdelivered runner-up Nickelodeon by at least double digits for the 19th-consecutive quarter in Tweens 9-14 (+64% – 336,000 vs. 205,000 – dates back to 3Q11) and led by 4% Kids 6-11 (345,000 vs. 331,000).

  • Austin & Allyranked as the #1 TV series in Kids 6-11 (1.4 million/6.2 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.4 million/5.7 rating), the #1 live action TV series in Kids 2-11 (1.7 million/4.3 rating) and the #1 series across kid TV networks in Total Viewers (3.6 million).

 

Disney Junior Brand: 1Q 2016 Total Day

During first quarter 2016, the 24-hour Disney Junior channel ranked as TV’s #1 preschooler network for the 12th-consecutive quarter – marking 3 years of dominance – in Total Viewers (536,000), Kids 2-5 (223,000/1.4 rating), Girls 2-5(112,000/1.5 rating), Boys 2-5 (111,000/1.4 rating) and Women 18-49 (112,000/0.2 rating) –every quarter since reporting public ratings at the top of 2Q13 – towering over Nick Jr. and Sprout by double and triple digits.

1Q 2016 was the channel’s #1 quarter on record on a Total Day viewing basis in Adults 18-49 (174,000) and its #2 quarter in its three-year history in Total Viewers and Women 18-49.

  • The Disney Junior brand delivered 2 of the Top 4 TV series of the quarter among Kids 2-5 with “Sofia the First” (#3 – 682,000/4.4 rating)and “The Lion Guard” (#4 – 665,000/4.3 rating).

 

  • A new “Sofia the First” on Disney Channel’s daily Disney Junior block (2/15/16),“Sofia the First: Olaf and the Tale of Miss Nettle” with a special appearance by Olaf from Disney’s blockbuster “Frozen,” ranked as the series’ most watched telecast in 15 months in Total Viewers (3.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.1 million/0.9 rating) and hit a 1 year ratings high among  Kids 2-5(1.1 million/6.9 rating) – since 11/23/14 and 2/20/15, respectively.
  • Led by newcomer “The Lion Guard,” the 24-hour Disney Junior channel delivered the Top 7 series across preschooler-dedicated TV networks in Total Viewers and Kids 2-5 (Top 5 below):

  • Disney Junior channel towered over Sprout triple digits across Total Viewers (+297% –536,000 vs. 135,000), Kids 2-5 (+298% –223,000 vs. 56,000), Girls 2-5 (+250% – 112,000 vs. 32,000), Boys 2-5 (+344% –111,000 vs. 25,000) and Women 18-49 (+348% – 112,000 vs. 25,000).
