Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at Disneyland Resort has recently introduced a new seasonal delight: the Nightmare Grog and the Nightmare Grog Float, complete with a festive “Nightmare Before Christmas” souvenir cup. But is this spooky treat worth the hype? Let’s dive into this magical offering.

Located at the Disneyland Hotel, Trader Sam’s is a well-loved spot known for its vibrant tiki culture and whimsical cocktails. Open from 11:30 a.m. to 11:55 p.m., it’s the perfect place to grab lunch or dinner and sip on something delightful. The new Nightmare Grog drinks, ranging from $9.50 to $17.00, include a twist with DOLE Whip and rum options that capture the essence of Disney’s timeless charm.

The standout, however, is the Nightmare Grog Float with Rum for $17, combining DOLE Whip, rum, and a souvenir cup. Our initial taste was perplexing as the DOLE Whip’s flavor profile diverged from its classic pineapple taste. Upon consulting the Cast members, we discovered it was a unique blend of mango, passionfruit, and ginger. While it might not be for everyone, it’s certainly a bold creation that’s intriguing once you adjust your palate.

Complementing the flavor, the texture of the Grog Float with rum is considerably thicker than a standard DOLE Whip float, and the coconut rum pairs excellently with the pineapple juice, making it a tropical indulgence that’s worth a try if you’re up for something different.

The souvenir cup itself, portraying skeletal reindeers and Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws, adds a collectible, festive touch to the experience. For convenience, the collectible cup is given out clean, ensuring you don’t have to carry around a used cup for the rest of your visit.
