As Walt Disney famously said, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.” The spirit of this quote was alive and well at the recent D23 Expo in Anaheim, where Disney pulled back the curtain on a host of exciting new additions coming to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

During the “Horizons: D23 Disney Experiences Showcase,” Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro unveiled a treasure trove of new developments. These aren’t just “Blue Sky” dreams; the plans are already in active development stages. “At Disney Experiences, Imagineers dream, create, design, and build these stories into real places. Dirt is moving,” D’Amaro assured attendees.

Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World is set to welcome a game-changing Villains’ Land, a dark and thrilling area where Disney’s iconic villains reign supreme. Additionally, Frontierland is being reimagined to incorporate attractions based on the “Cars” franchise, promising a unique blend of the American West and high-octane racing.

Over at Hollywood Studios, a new Monsters, Inc. land will transport guests into the world of lovable monsters with thrilling activities, including a roller coaster through the scream-and-laugh factory. Meanwhile, Animal Kingdom is set to replace the Dinosaur ride with new adventures inspired by “Encanto” and “Indiana Jones.”

Disneyland in California is also getting a substantial boost. California Adventure will introduce an Avatar-themed land based on the latest films and expand the Avengers Campus with two new rides, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. Fans of “Coco” can also look forward to a brilliantly designed ride inspired by the hit movie’s magical journey.

The Disney magic doesn’t stop at the parks. The Disney Cruise Line is set to expand its fleet to an impressive 13 ships, bringing more opportunities for magical voyages on the high seas.
