Fans were in for a treat on Saturday when Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro unveiled a slew of breathtaking expansions at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event Presented by Visa®.
Let’s dive into the magical and villainous projects in store! The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort is set for its most significant expansion ever. Imagineers are crafting a land dedicated to those wickedly wonderful Disney villains we’ve all come to love (and fear). Accompanying this dark delight, the beloved Cars franchise will also roar into Magic Kingdom with two new attractions in a newly reimagined Frontierland. Both young ones and thrill-seekers alike will find new racing adventures to enjoy.
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the adventures continue with a new land inspired by the Tropical Americas. This exotic area will transport guests to Pueblo Esperanza, a vibrant, fictional village set in the heart of the rainforest. On the outskirts, brace yourself for an all-new Indiana Jones attraction and a first-ever ride-through experience from Encanto, set within the magical Casita.
The magic doesn’t stop there! Disney’s Hollywood Studios will welcome guests to a new Monsters, Inc. land, featuring an extraordinary suspended coaster, the first of its kind in any Disney park. Fans will get to immerse themselves in the world of laughter and friendship that defines the beloved Pixar franchise.
Across the country, Disneyland Resort is gearing up for its own transformations. Disney California Adventure will expand Avengers Campus, doubling its size to include two new Marvel-themed E-ticket attractions. But that’s not all – the mesmerizing world of Avatar will also make its debut with a new attraction inspired by “Avatar: The Way of Water” and future films.
Josh D’Amaro summed it up best when he said, “Today we unveiled an extensive slate of new experiences that only Disney can deliver.
