As the Halloween spirit sweeps through Disneyland, the beloved giant Mickey Jack-o’-lantern has made its grand return to Main Street, U.S.A. for the 2024 festivities, bringing joy to guests and fans alike. This iconic centerpiece has delighted visitors for over 15 seasons, providing the perfect photo opportunity while setting the festive tone for the rest of the park.
The Mickey Jack-o’-lantern, meticulously carved on both sides, showcases Mickey Mouse’s signature charm. One side presents Mickey with a playful wink and a toothy grin, while the other side features him with both eyes open in a happy smile. Flanked by two smaller pumpkins serving as Mickey’s ears, this heartwarming display is surrounded by an array of smaller, artistically-carved pumpkins—a true testament to Disney’s attention to detail and celebration spirit.
Within the hub near Sleeping Beauty Castle, guests can also find an assortment of Jack-o’-lanterns representing fan-favorite characters from various Disneyland lands. Roger Rabbit shines brightly for Mickey’s Toontown, Buzz Lightyear stands proud for Tomorrowland, and Tinker Bell graces Fantasyland. Even the changing nature of the park is represented, as a Winnie the Pooh Jack-o’-lantern sits with the plaque “Critter Country,” formally acknowledging its upcoming transformation to Bayou Country alongside Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Frontierland is duly represented by a carved pumpkin of Woody, and Adventureland pays homage to its adventurous spirit with a Tarzan-themed Jack-o’-lantern. Lastly, New Orleans Square showcases a Jack Skellington pumpkin, a perfect nod to the spooky season and a reminder of the Haunted Mansion Holiday experience.
As Disneyland gears up for Halloween Time, kicking off officially on August 23, the park promises a magical, spooky season for all—enhanced by Halloween décor and the much-anticipated Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure.
