Excitement is in the air at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort! The park is set to weave an all-new attraction featuring everyone’s favorite web-slinger, Spider-Man. This thrilling news was unveiled by a Disney executive during the D23 Expo in California, creating a buzz amongst Marvel fans far and wide.

Although Disney has kept precise details under wraps—such as the opening date and specific features—an enticing statement from the Hong Kong park hints at an immersive experience. “To ensure a better and brighter future for all mankind and the world, the most brilliant minds from the Avengers are working together and bringing new pavilions to the Stark Expo to showcase their most recent inventions and technologies,” the statement reads. Peter Parker, in his Spider-Man persona, is set to take center stage, hosting and demonstrating the latest in Stark Industries breakthroughs. Adding to the excitement, one of Spidey’s most formidable villains will also be part of the action, ensuring guests are caught right in the middle of the ultimate showdown.

This Spider-Man attraction will be a new jewel in the crown of Hong Kong Disneyland’s Marvel-themed Tomorrowland. The region has already enjoyed successful installations like the “Iron Man Experience” and “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle!” since 2017 and 2019, respectively. With this new addition, the park aims to solidify its reputation as a premier destination for Marvel aficionados.

The Spider-Man attraction isn’t exclusive to Hong Kong, either. Its Shanghai counterpart will also be launching a “high-energy thrill coaster,” further expanding the Marvel universe in Disney Parks across Asia.

Hong Kong Disneyland has shown resilience and innovation, especially emerging from the financial woes exacerbated during the Covid-19 pandemic. With a 207% rise in Ebitda for the year ending September 30, the park’s management is optimistic about their road to recovery. Recently, the resort also opened the world’s first Frozen-themed entertainment zone, adding another feather in their cap as part of an expansive HK$10.9 billion project.
