Exciting news for Disney fans and music lovers alike! The Cloughaneely Junior Band from Donegal has been selected to perform at none other than Disneyland Paris this July. This enchanting opportunity comes after the band, also known as Banna Ceoil Chloich Cheann Fhaola, submitted an impressive video of their performance to Disney’s selection panel last year. They received the magical news during Christmas, setting the stage for an unforgettable summer adventure.
As the trip of a lifetime approaches, the band is in the final stages of preparation. Members are hard at work perfecting a repertoire of beloved Disney tunes, including “Beauty and the Beast,” “Part of Your World,” “The Lion King,” and “Under the Sea.” These young musicians will march down Main Street Disney on Wednesday, July 3rd, captivating audiences with their melodious tribute to Disney classics.
Gerry O’Donnell, Chairperson of the band, couldn’t be prouder of this remarkable achievement. “The commitment each member has shown is incredible,” he remarked. “Our teachers and committee have poured countless hours into making this an unforgettable experience for everyone involved. Currently reigning champions of the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Competition, the Cloughaneely Junior Band will soon head to Wexford in August to defend their All-Ireland title. Before that, however, they will create magical memories in Paris. The entire troupe, including members, committee, and proud parents, is set to depart on July 1st for a three-night stay.
To give the community a preview of their Disney performance, the band will hold a special showcase at Ionad Naomh Fionnán on June 27th at 8 PM. Friends, family, and fans are invited to support the band and witness their enchanting performances.
