An iconic centerpiece has made an impressive debut at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for this year’s Season of the Force event at Disneyland Resort. The Grand Californian is now home to a mesmerizing Death Star display, artfully crafted to capture the epic saga of Star Wars right in the lobby.

This rotating masterpiece brings the grandeur of the Death Star to life, complete with hovering X-Wings from the Rebel Alliance simulating their daring trench run. This year’s display offers a stark contrast to last year’s centerpiece, which featured the Millennium Falcon.

Here are some fun facts about the ingredients used to create this culinary marvel:
– 160 pounds of crisped rice cereal
– 150 pounds of fondant
– 80 pounds of powdered sugar
– 80 pounds of marshmallows
– 40 pounds of chocolate
– 30 pounds of butter
– 24 pounds of egg whites

Early risers on the first day of the event witnessed the confection team as they meticulously assembled the display, bringing it to life with sweet precision. Friend of Mickey News, Johnny, was on hand to capture photos and video of this edible (though technically not for consumption) Death Star. While pictures and videos are stunning, they hardly compare to the grandeur of seeing it in person!

Adding to the ambiance, Star Wars music will fill the air, played live on the piano at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Be sure to catch these themed performances daily at 4:00 PM and 7:30 PM for an extra touch of galactic elegance.
