A fiery incident at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California left over half a dozen vehicles damaged on Friday morning, but fortunately no injuries were reported. The Anaheim Fire Department was called to the fifth level of the Pixar Pals Parking Structure, where a vehicle was ablaze just before 10 a.m. PT.
Initial reports indicated that the fire might have stemmed from a Toyota RAV4, but Anaheim Police and Fire Public Information Officer Sgt. Jacob Gallacher later clarified that the blaze originated inside the engine of a Kia Sportage SUV. The exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, but between six to 12 neighboring vehicles sustained damage ranging from smoke exposure to being rendered inoperable.
Operations at the Pixar Pals Parking Structure were temporarily paused to manage the situation, but according to Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Jakary, these operations are being gradually restored. As of 1:30 p.m. PT, the first three levels of the parking structure had been reopened, and the broader Disneyland Resort remained unaffected by the fire.
This incident echoes the importance of emergency responsiveness within large-scale public venues like Disneyland Resort, where safety protocols quickly mitigated further risk. The quick action by the Anaheim Fire and Police Departments helped ensure that damages were contained and that the resort could resume its magical operations.
