Exciting news for Disneyland enthusiasts! The beloved Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes are back in the water after a hiatus due to nearby construction. The attraction, which allows guests to paddle around the scenic Rivers of America, closed in July but has now resumed operations much to the delight of visitors.
Families and friends were spotted enjoying the serene paddles on Monday, the day the canoes reopened. This reopening coincides with the debut of a new pathway connecting Bayou Country and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, enhancing the park’s navigation. Additionally, this marks the beginning of a rebranding transition from the well-known Critter Country to the more evocative Bayou Country.
Originally launched on July 4, 1956, as the Indian War Canoes, Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes have been a staple of Disneyland for decades. They were part of the Indian Village, which has since evolved into the charming Bayou Country. Disneyland cast members, always passionate and knowledgeable, guide guests on this unique rowing adventure around Tom Sawyer Island. The experience remains a must-do from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on most days.
For those planning a visit, make sure to check out this historic and interactive attraction. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy the natural beauty of Disneyland while getting a bit of exercise and fun on the water.
