Fans of Disney’s “Hercules,” rejoice! The menacing yet lovable Hades has stepped into the spotlight at Disney California Adventure’s Oogie Boogie Bash for the very first time. This year, attendees of this spook-tacular Halloween event can meet the underworld overlord himself in a special treat trail meet-and-greet setup.
A performer dressed as Hades stands on a striking stage designed as “Hades Hideaway,” with a throne and Greek vases, adding an authentic touch to his lair. What’s more captivating is Hades’ glowing blue hair, which spectacularly turns red when he’s angry—along with the set’s fake flames. This fiery transformation surely makes this meet-and-greet a blazing hot attraction!
During a preview night, TikTok user @karen_inwonderland gave us a first look at our fiery friend, sharing a glowing video that highlighted the interactive and immersive experience. Making sure to catch a glimpse of Hades might require patience, as lines are expected to be long. So, if you’re eager for a villainous chat, heading there first is advised!
The event doesn’t stop with Hades. He replaces Cruella de Vil on the Hollywood Land backlot stage, and although Mother Gothel is no longer available for meet-and-greet sessions, she makes a dramatic appearance in this year’s Frightfully Fun Parade. Adding to the excitement is the introduction of Dr. Doofenshmirtz from “Phineas and Ferb,” who joins the lineup of rogues for the first time as well.
The Oogie Boogie Bash, with its rare villain appearances, enchanting Villains Grove, and thrilling Frightfully Fun Parade, runs on select nights from August 25 to October 31. Unfortunately, tickets for this chilling festivity are already sold out, but for those lucky enough to snag them early, it promises to be an unforgettable Halloween adventure.
