Attention, Disney fans and runners alike! Get ready to mark your calendars and dust off your running shoes because runDisney has announced thrilling themes for the highly anticipated 2026 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. Scheduled from January 29th to February 1st, 2026, this event coincides with Disneyland’s monumental 70th anniversary, making it an extra special celebration!
This iconic race weekend includes a suite of exciting races: a 5K, 10K, and half marathon, along with some special events for everyone in the family. The 2026 theme encompasses everything that brings us joy and happiness, ensuring plenty of smiles throughout the weekend.
On January 30th, the festivities kick off with a heartwarming 5K, themed around Joy from “Inside Out.” It’s the perfect way to “Celebrate Joy” as you sprint through Disneyland’s magical paths. The following day, January 31st, runners embark on a whimsical 10K, inspired by Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey, encouraging participants to “Celebrate Imagination.” Do make sure to add the Fantasmic! overture to your playlist for this imaginative run.
February 1st brings the ultimate challenge with a half marathon where runners will “Celebrate Togetherness” surrounded by “it’s a small world” wonders. Those brave (and fit) enough to complete both the 10K and the half marathon will earn an additional “Celebrate Achievement” medal featuring Dumbo, marking 19.3 miles of pure accomplishment!
For younger runners and those looking for a more relaxed start, kiddos can enjoy the “Celebrate Laughter” fun runs with Stitch, and adults can participate in the delightful “Celebrate Smiles” yoga session with Miss Piggy at Sleeping Beauty Castle.
