Big news is on the horizon for Disney California Adventure and Disneyland! During a recent spectacular presentation at the D23 Expo, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro unveiled several jaw-dropping additions coming to the Disneyland Resort. Set to join the already beloved attractions are the much-anticipated Pandora from “Avatar,” the first-ever Coco-themed ride, and two thrilling superhero rides.

Following a major deal with Anaheim to rezone their expansive property, Disney is channeling at least $1.9 billion into these new magical experiences. Among these exciting announcements, D’Amaro confirmed that a themed land based on James Cameron’s “Avatar” will be constructed at Disney California Adventure, diverging from CEO Bob Iger’s previous statement that it would be built at Disneyland. This new Pandora experience will take guests on an enchanting journey through both dense forests and open seas, promising an intense and emotional adventure.

Not to be outdone, Disneyland will also see considerable enhancements. Slated for a grand opening on November 15, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will transport guests into the heart of New Orleans, replacing the former Critter Country. The park will also introduce its first-ever Walt Disney audio-animatronic in “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” an engaging show at the Main Street Opera House. Disneyland will thus amalgamate Walt Disney’s legacy with new and thrilling chapters, just ahead of its 70th anniversary in 2025.

Meanwhile, fans of the hit movie “Coco” can rejoice as Disney Imagineers are hard at work creating a vibrant ride that will escort visitors alongside Miguel into the Land of the Dead. This festive journey will delight in the classics’ style, much like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. This groundbreaking work is expected to begin in 2026.

Avengers Campus is also set for a significant upgrade with two new E-Ticket attractions. Visitors will first join Avengers: Infinity Defense ride to battle King Thanos in various epic locales. A second attraction will take them to Tony Stark’s workshop for a thrilling test flight experience, where guests can team up with different Marvel heroes.

With these innovative developments, Disney reaffirms its commitment to its parks and the happiness they bring to millions. The company’s $60 billion investment into its Experiences division over the next decade ensures that there will be no shortage of excitement and magic for years to come.
