Next month, a beloved corner of Disneyland Park, known affectionately as Critter Country, is about to transform into Bayou Country, ushering in a new era of enchantment coinciding with the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on November 15th.
Much like the version that recently opened at Walt Disney World, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disneyland will replace the classic Splash Mountain ride. Magic Key holders can enjoy previews between October 21st and November 12th, with Cast Member previews starting from October 22nd until November 12th.
But the magic doesn’t stop there. The reimagined area will feature two new themed gift shops: Louis’ Critter Club, opening on November 13th, where fans can grab apparel, accessories, and home decor inspired by the characters of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and Ray’s Berets, offering a delightful selection of hats, clothes, toys, and more.
If your taste buds are tingling, you’ll be thrilled to know that Hungry Bear Restaurant is undergoing a charming transformation into Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. This reimagined eatery will offer a mouthwatering menu of regional BBQ favorites, honoring the endearing Country Bears like Henry, Wendell, and Big Al.
This makeover marks the third iteration of this thematic land, from its origins as Bear Country in 1972, to the renaming as Critter Country in 1988 alongside Splash Mountain’s debut. When Bayou Country officially opens, Disneyland’s evolution continues as it swings open the gates to this fresh, vibrant chapter.
We can’t wait to see how Disneyland aficionados react to this historical transformation. Share your excitement and thoughts in the comments below – and don’t forget to spread the magic by sharing this story with your friends!
