Disney magic is always brewing new adventures, and this latest one is no exception. Disneyland has officially announced the preview dates for its eagerly awaited Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. West Coast aficionados, mark your calendars, because this enchanting new attraction will officially debut to guests on November 15, 2024.
However, there’s even more exciting news for Disneyland’s Magic Key holders. To show appreciation for their loyal annual pass members, Disneyland is offering an exclusive preview of this majestic ride. Magic Key holders can revel in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure starting October 21, with these special previews running up until November 12. To make this moment even more magical, attendees will receive a special “Magic Key keepsake” during each preview day while supplies last. Participants need to join a virtual queue and ensure they have valid park reservations to partake in the adventure.
Fans of Disney will remember the announcement in 2020 when Disney shared plans to reimagine the classic Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. This re-theming effort was met with applause as many felt it more accurately represented the diverse histories and stories Disney aims to share. The prior attraction faced criticism due to its connections to the 1946 film “Song of the South,” which had been criticized for its problematic portrayal of Black people and a sanitized narrative of the post-Civil War South.
Notwithstanding its contentious history, Splash Mountain remained beloved by many for its spirited music and thrilling flume ride. Tiana’s fresh, vibrant energy will undoubtedly preserve and build upon the affection Disney parkgoers held for its predecessor. Walt Disney World fans have already had a taste of this adventure since June, making the anticipation even higher for those on the West Coast.
