Disneyland Resort’s California Adventure Park is set to get even more super with the thrilling new addition to Avengers Campus: Stark Flight Lab. Riding the wave of excitement that came from the big reveal at the 2024 D23 Expo, fans are buzzing about what’s in store. Buckle up, because we’re taking a high-flying dive into all the electrifying details of Stark Flight Lab.
Unveiled as part of the expansion of Avengers Campus, Stark Flight Lab promises to be a cutting-edge flight simulator experience featuring none other than Tony Stark himself, reprised by Robert Downey Jr. Guests will get to climb into two-person gyrokinetic pods for what begins as a routine test flight – but things take a dramatic turn when a robot arm snatches the pods, sending guests on an exhilarating simulated flight. This innovative ride will seamlessly transition between track and robotic arm, raising the bar for Disney’s immersive attractions.
Though construction is underway, we don’t have an exact opening date just yet. However, considering the timelines of previous attractions like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, it’s reasonable to expect Stark Flight Lab will lift off somewhere around 2027 or 2028. As work progresses, keep an eye on the park for updates.
The precise location within Avengers Campus remains under wraps, but concept art suggests it’ll reside behind Avengers Vault, expanding the campus’s borders. With Avengers Infinity Defense in the works too, we’re looking at a doubling in size of this hero-filled land, promising more action-packed adventures than ever before.
