If you’re planning to visit Disneyland Paris this weekend, it might be time to reconsider. The “Happiest Place on Earth” has been experiencing unprecedented crowds, leading to capacity issues, especially during high-traffic periods. This comes as no surprise, given Disney’s consistent offerings of top-tier entertainment, immersive rides, and magical character experiences that keep drawing crowds from all over the globe.
Things are bustling at Disneyland Paris, an undeniable testament to its growing popularity. The park has undergone significant enhancements, including the introduction of Avengers Campus in 2022, and upcoming attractions like World of Frozen in 2026 and a Lion King-inspired land. Furthermore, the renovation of Disneyland Hotel into a luxurious princess-themed experience, complete with private meet-and-greets, has made waves, with prices per night reaching up to $1,000. These enhancements have undoubtedly contributed to the park’s 4.7% attendance increase last year.
However, with popularity comes a downside—crowds. Recent visitor figures show that the park has reached full capacity several times this year, with wait times for popular attractions, such as the Princess Pavilion, extending up to five hours. Notably, this weekend is expected to be no different. The DLP Report indicates that both parks are at full capacity due to the bank holiday weekend in France, coupled with favorable weather and a post-Olympic visitor surge.
Given these circumstances, anyone without a pre-purchased ticket and reservation is likely to be turned away. Even Annual Passholders need reservations to gain entry. The resort stopped onsite ticket sales years ago, so last-minute guests might face disappointment at the gate.
It’s not all bad news, though. Thanks to cooler weather forecasts for the weekend, recent issues like the cancellation of character meet-and-greets and the temporary closure of outdoor attractions due to extreme heat should be less of a problem this time around.
