Are you ready for some MAJOR changes at Disneyland in 2025? It’s the Southern California resort’s 70th anniversary, and this is going to be a year like no other! Starting May 16th, Disneyland will pull out all the stops for a year-long celebration filled with special merchandise, beloved entertainment, ride updates, delectable treats, and memorable character appearances. Prepare for larger crowds and an experience that’s sure to be different from what you’re used to.

But wait, there’s more! The ever-popular nighttime parade, “Paint the Night,” is making a grand return. As a spiritual successor to the Main Street Electrical Parade, this dazzling spectacle hasn’t illuminated Disneyland since its discontinuation in 2016. Whether you’re a seasoned Disneyland goer or a first-timer, this is an absolute must-see.

In a groundbreaking move, the Main Street Opera House will debut “Walt Disney — A Magical Life,” showcasing the first-ever audio-animatronic figure of Walt Disney. This will rotate with the classic “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.” The new show is poised to become a guest favorite, adding a touch of history and innovation.

Changes are also afoot at the entrance gates. Disneyland is phasing out the traditional turnstiles in favor of new “tapstiles,” accepting tickets on phones and MagicBand+. This update aims to streamline the entry process, much like the system at Disneyland Paris.

Of course, one of the biggest buzz-generators is DisneylandForward, a billion-dollar-plus expansion project that includes new attractions like an expanded Avengers Campus, a Coco ride, and a fresh Avatar land for Disney California Adventure Park. Expect significant construction and some temporary ride closures as the park evolves.
