Buckle up, Disney fans, because there’s thrilling news rolling in from the world of Pandora! During the 2024 D23 Expo, Disney unveiled tantalizing details about the upcoming Avatar land set to debut at Disney California Adventure. Building on the massive success of “Pandora – The World of Avatar” in Florida’s Animal Kingdom, this new land promises a uniquely immersive experience inspired by the expanding Avatar franchise.
The new Avatar land will dive deep into the aquatic realms featured in “Avatar: The Way of Water” and the forthcoming “Avatar: Fire and Ash.” Unlike its Floridian sister, which showcases Pandora’s lush jungles and floating mountains, the California Adventure iteration will transport guests to the vibrant beaches and mysterious swamplands of Pandora. The centerpiece? A thrilling water ride described as “an excursion of natural wonders,” promising encounters with wandering Na’vi, predatory Viperwolves, and even a majestic breaching Tulkun.
But Avatar isn’t the only new enchantment on the horizon for Disney California Adventure. In a delightful surprise, Disney announced a Coco-themed water attraction, bringing the colorful and heartwarming world of Pixar’s hit movie to life through a new exhilarating adventure.
Moreover, Marvel fans have reasons to rejoice as “Avengers Campus” is set for a whopping expansion. The centerpiece of this enlargement will be “Avengers: Infinity Defense,” an epic ride that pits guests alongside their favorite superheroes against the multiversal villain, King Thanos. Additionally, fans can look forward to “Stark Flight Lab,” featuring Robert Downey Jr. reprising his iconic role as Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man.
While specific release dates for these attractions remain under wraps, anticipation is already sky-high. In the meantime, fans can stream the first two Avatar films on Disney+ to gear up for their futuristic trips to Pandora.
