Exciting news is buzzing in the Disney community! Disney has just announced the launch of a new ‘Lightning Lane Premier Pass,’ giving guests the ultimate convenience of skipping lines at their beloved parks. This pass, set to debut in October as part of a limited pilot scheme, is making waves for its price point—up to a staggering $400 per person, potentially more than the cost of a standard park ticket.
Initially rolling out at Disneyland Resort in California on October 23, guests looking to grab a Lightning Lane Premier Pass will need a valid theme park ticket with a ‘Park Hopper’ benefit. This pass will grant access to the Lightning Lane at any ride once per day. But hold on, Disneyland fans, that’s not all! Just a week later, the same pilot scheme will launch at Disney World Resort in Florida, starting on October 30. However, these passes will only be available to guests staying at Disney’s deluxe hotels, a full week ahead of their check-in.
The pricing model for the passes will vary based on demand and specific dates. In California, expect prices between $300 and $400 from 2025 onward. Over in Florida, the cost will depend on both the park and how busy the day is. For instance, adding a Premier Pass to an Animal Kingdom ticket on a less crowded day will set you back around $137.39 after tax, according to a CNN report. If you’re visiting Magic Kingdom during peak times like Christmas, be prepared to shell out over $478.19—more than double the average ticket price.
Currently, guests can use Multi Passes at Disney’s U.S. parks for Lightning Lane access at specific attractions, but these passes cost significantly less—usually up to $40 per person daily. However, they require booking time slots in advance, unlike the new Premier Pass, which offers the liberty to hop into Lightning Lanes at your convenience.
