A recent study has illuminated the best amusement parks in the U.S., with Disney distinguished by claiming seven out of the top ten spots. However, the real surprise lies in the park that snatched the coveted number one position. Spoiler alert: there’s no castle in sight!

Universal Orlando Resort’s Islands of Adventure claims the fifth spot with an impressive score of 89.86 out of 100. The park has earned its accolades largely due to its stellar Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, which carries a 4.7-star Google rating and 84% “excellent” reviews.

Next up, Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort, the world’s largest theme park by area, ranks fourth with a score of 90.76 out of 100. Known for its conservation focus, this park amazes visitors with Avatar Flight of Passage, which has a 4.8-star Google rating.

Third place goes to Disneyland Park in California, Disney’s original magic kingdom. Scoring 91.88 out of 100, the park saw over 16 million visitors in 2022 and enjoys a 4.7-star Google rating. Its sister park, Disney California Adventure, narrowly missed the top spot with an impressive score of 92.79, bolstered by “excellent” reviews both on Google and TripAdvisor.

Taking the top honor, Walt Disney World’s Epcot scored 92.83 out of 100. Known for blending innovation, technology, and entertainment, a whopping 80% of its TripAdvisor reviews earned an “excellent” rating. Interestingly, Magic Kingdom, despite not making the top five, still commands attention with over 17 million attendees in 2022, the highest of all analyzed parks.

Rounding out the top ten were Universal Studios Florida, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, Cedar Point in Ohio, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This analysis underscores Disney’s dominance in the industry, as seven of the top ten parks are Disney-owned. What are your thoughts on this list?
