Exciting news for the Cloughaneely Junior Band! This talented ensemble, known as Banna Ceoil Chloich Cheann Fhaola, is about to embark on an unforgettable adventure by heading to Disneyland Paris this July. They’ve earned an exclusive invitation to march down the iconic Main Street, U.S.A. and bask in the magic of becoming Disney performers for a day.
Over the winter months, these dedicated young musicians have been tirelessly rehearsing their Disney repertoire. They have mastered beloved tunes like “Beauty and the Beast,” “Part of Your World,” “The Lion King,” and “Under the Sea,” ensuring their performance will be a hit with both the crowd and Disney characters themselves. The big march is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3rd – a date that no one in the band or their community will soon forget.
Chairperson Gerry O’Donnell had nothing but praise for the band’s efforts: “We really have the best bunch of young people, and they are a credit to our parish. The commitment each member has given is incredible. Our teachers and committee have worked tirelessly to make this a memorable trip for everyone involved.”
This trip to Disneyland Paris is just the latest achievement for the Cloughaneely Junior Band, who are reigning All-Ireland champions in the Fleadh Cheoil na h-Eireann Competition. They’ll be defending their title in Wexford this August, but for now, all eyes are on Paris. The excitement is tangible as band members, committee members, and parents prepare for their 3-night stay starting July 1st.
The band is also inviting everyone to Ionad Naomh Fionnán on Thursday, June 27th at 8 PM, where they will showcase their Disney program. It’s set to be a fantastic evening for family, friends, and the community to experience a piece of the magic before their trip.
