The magic of solidarity and celebration once again transformed Disneyland into a sea of red as Gay Days Anaheim returned from September 13-15. This fantastic event gathered LGBTQ+ individuals and allies for an unforgettable weekend filled with joy, unity, and festivities. Participants were encouraged to don their red shirts, symbolizing both support and visibility.

Highlighting the weekend was a special treat for fans of the beloved show *Knots Landing*. On Friday, September 13, Joan Van Ark, Michele Lee, and Donna Mills, who played iconic characters Valene Ewing, Karen MacKenzie, and Abby Ewing, shared behind-the-scenes stories and juicy tidbits. This intimate event not only delighted attendees but also supported Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS with both general and VIP tickets, the latter offering a priceless meet-and-greet opportunity.

The musical lineup added to the excitement with Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson and fan-favorite Jackie Cox dazzling audiences with their performances. Saturday, September 14, was a spectacle of drag shows and comedic showcases like *The MisMatch Game*, hosted by Dennis Hensley, which combined hilarious celebrity impersonations with Disney-themed questions. The night culminated in a grand dance party, KINGDOM, at the House of Blues Anaheim featuring DJ Kimberly S.

Disneyland didn’t just host events; it embraced the festivities with special rainbow-themed treats. Visitors enjoyed Rainbow Macarons, Rainbow Linzer Cookies, and Rainbow Cake, available in various locations across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. These delightful desserts not only stood out for their taste but also for the vibrant message of inclusivity they represented.

The festivities extended to Sunday with the annual pool party, PLUNGE!, at the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel, and a captivating performance by Varla Jean Merman at the Grand Californian Hotel. The weekend-long celebration also featured the Gay Days Welcome Center at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, offering event merchandise and fun giveaways.

With Disneyland expanding its LGBTQ+ representation and support through events like Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite, the resort continues to foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all its guests.
