We have some sorrowful news coming from Disneyland. Bobby Graves, a well-known runner and beloved Disney content creator who garnered a considerable following on Instagram and TikTok under the username Calebgtravels, tragically passed away after completing Disneyland’s Halloween Half Marathon. Known affectionately as Caleb, Graves was an ardent Disney fan and a fixture in the running community.

Early on September 8th, Graves crossed the finish line of the Halloween Half Marathon. However, moments after finishing, he clutched his chest and collapsed. A volunteer managed to catch him before he hit the ground. Anaheim Police Sgt. Matt Sutter, while speaking with the Los Angeles Times, explained that emergency personnel were immediately on the scene, delivering lifesaving measures and transporting Graves to a nearby hospital. Despite their best efforts over the course of an hour, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Disneyland Resort spokesperson Jessica Good expressed heartfelt condolences, stating, “We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss and our hearts are with Caleb’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

At present, the cause of Graves’ death is suspected to be cardiac arrest, pending further investigation by the coroner’s office. Graves had no known pre-existing conditions and was an experienced long-distance runner, having completed other Disney marathons. California’s extreme heat wave is considered a likely contributing factor. Graves himself had voiced concerns about the high temperatures in a video posted the day before the race, expressing hope that he would be able to complete the marathon successfully. Tragically, the heat proved to be too much.

As we reflect on this tragic event, our thoughts are with Bobby “Caleb” Graves’ family and friends. His passion for running and Disney brought joy to many and left a lasting impact on the community.
