June 14th was packed with nostalgia as five iconic Disneyland attractions marked their significant anniversaries. The legendary Matterhorn Bobsleds, the Submarine Voyage, and the Disneyland Monorail each celebrated their 65th anniversary. Adding to the festive ambiance, it was also the 66th anniversary of the whimsical Alice in Wonderland ride and the storied Sailing Ship Columbia.
Daps Magic’s own Steven embarked on a journey through Disneyland to capture the spirit of these attractions on their special day. His adventure began with the towering Matterhorn, where the thrilling bobsleds have been racing down the mountain since 1959. Next, he plunged into the depths of the Submarine Lagoon, reminiscing about the aquatic explorations that have fascinated guests for six and a half decades.
The Monorail, Disneyland’s first-of-its-kind transportation system, gleamed under the California sun as Steven admired its sleek design and futuristic promise that has withstood the test of time. Over in Fantasyland, the timeless tale of Alice in Wonderland continues to enchant children and adults alike with its vibrant colors and whimsical storytelling.
Rounding out his nostalgic tour, Steven set sail on the Sailing Ship Columbia, the meticulously crafted replica of the original ship, which has been an integral part of Disneyland’s Rivers of America since 1958. These attractions embody the innovation and magic that Disneyland has been known for throughout its storied history.
