Exciting updates are on the horizon for the popular Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort! The famed ride in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to introduce thrilling new missions that feature none other than The Mandalorian and Grogu, beginning in May 2026.

This announcement was made during a Disney Experiences panel at Star Wars Celebration Japan, hosted by the voice of Ahsoka Tano, Ashley Eckstein. Joining her were key figures from Walt Disney Imagineering, Disney Live Entertainment, and Lucasfilm, including Asa Kalama, Anisha Deshmane, Michael Serna, and Matt Martin. Fans are in for an exhilarating ride as the new storyline takes flight on May 22, 2026, coinciding with the theatrical release of The Mandalorian & Grogu.

Guests can look forward to exploring iconic Star Wars locales such as Tatooine, Bespin, Endor, and the newly added Coruscant. The updated attraction follows Hondo Ohnaka as he uncovers a deal between former Imperial officers and pirates on Tatooine, sparking a galaxy-wide chase. With Mando and Grogu at your side, the adventure promises to be more dynamic and immersive than ever.

One of the most intriguing updates involves the Engineer role aboard the Millennium Falcon. Previously considered the least engaging, the Engineer will now be tasked with caring for Grogu and selecting the ship’s destination, adding a whole new layer of excitement and responsibility.

Concept art for the revamped attraction has also been revealed, offering a sneak peek into the thrilling adventures awaiting guests. These visuals build on earlier released images, providing a more detailed look at what’s to come.
