In 1985, 14-year-old Tamia Richardson visited Disneyland Resort during our 30th Anniversary celebration! As she approached the Main Entrance gates for the first time, Tamia saw the Gift-Giver Extraordinaire Machine, which awarded every 30th guest a special prize. After hearing bells clang, whistles toot and music flair, Tamia knew it was her lucky day! She was one of the guests to win a ticket to the “Happiest Place on Earth.” After 34 years and one saved ticket, Tamia returned to Disneyland park to experience the magic, this time with her daughters, Maren (17) and Mia (15).
During her visit, Tamia enjoyed the nostalgic lights and sounds of the “Main Street Electrical Parade,” just as she did as a teenager. “I still remember my first visit to the park, walking through the gates, hearing the bells, the clock and heading in for a fantastic day. I have fond memories of riding attractions like “it’s a small world,” meeting characters and watching “Main Street Electrical Parade.” My daughters are just about the age I was when I first visited the park, so this is quite the special occasion,” said Richardson.
