Even with cloudy skies, today’s solar eclipse was an awe-inspiring experience for guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort as they watched the moon move between the sun and earth – casting a rare afternoon shadow over all four of our parks.
At just before 3 p.m., our cameras captured a partial eclipse above the iconic Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park and several other Walt Disney World Resort locations, including the popular Spaceship Earth attraction at Epcot.
Hundreds of guests with protective eyeglasses and cameras across the Resort paused their Disney vacation and directed their attention to the Florida sky to witness the historic event. The Porter family from Philadelphia joined other park guests in describing the natural phenomenon as simply amazing.
“I couldn’t wait to be in the Magic Kingdom to see this,” Rhianna Porter said. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for everybody in the family. This is amazing. WOW!”
The eclipse may have only lasted minutes, but park guests said it was a magical moment that helped make today’s Disney visit extra special. Did you join us in the parks today? If so, let us know about it in the comments below.
