Disneyland fans, get ready for a magical adventure like never before! Disney Parks Chairperson Josh D’Amaro recently unveiled plans for seven new attractions at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, all set to open over the next five years. This announcement, made during the D23 fan event at Honda Center, promises a thrilling mix of new experiences based on beloved franchises like “Avatar,” “Coco,” “Avengers,” “The Mandalorian,” Princess Tiana, and a special tribute to Walt Disney himself.

The first to debut will be the highly anticipated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, transforming the classic Splash Mountain into a vibrant celebration of “The Princess and the Frog.” This revamped log flume ride will open on November 15, 2024, just in time for the holiday season. Alongside, sections of the new Bayou Country area might open ahead of the main attraction, giving guests a sneak peek into the festivities.

Following closely, in 2025, Disneyland will introduce the world’s first Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure at the Main Street Opera House. This interactive “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” show will initially run independently before rotating with the iconic “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln,” adding a historical and inspirational dimension to the park.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge enthusiasts can look forward to a “Mandalorian and Grogu” themed makeover of Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, set to coincide with the film’s release in May 2026. Meanwhile, Marvel fans have a double treat coming their way with the Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab attractions. Construction for these additions will begin in 2025, and while specific opening dates are yet to be announced, Infinity Defense might open as early as 2026.

But that’s not all! Disney California Adventure is set to welcome its first “Coco” attraction, taking guests on a musical journey to the Land of the Dead in 2027. Adding to the excitement, a new “Avatar” area inspired by “The Way of Water” will transport adventurers to the fantastical world of Pandora—expected to be an immersive experience that could rival the scale of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
