Exciting developments are underway in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort! The beloved Earl of Sandwich, a fan-favorite dining spot, is moving towards a more permanent and spacious home amid the bustling entertainment and shopping hub.
Renovations for the new establishment are in full swing. DAPs Magic correspondent Steven recently visited the site to observe the ongoing progress. While the visible structure hasn’t shown remarkable changes in the past few weeks, diligent work continues behind the scenes, with audible construction activity and busy equipment signaling advancements.
The upcoming two-story Earl of Sandwich location will anchor the western end of Downtown Disney District, nestled comfortably near D-Lander and Avengers Reserve stores. Disney shared a tantalizing concept art last year, showcasing the future look of this exciting venue.
Fans will be delighted to know that the first floor will capture the essence and menu items they have come to love since 2012. Expect classic sandwiches like The Original 1762, The Full Montagu, and the Holiday Turkey, along with an array of hand-crafted wraps, salads, and delectable desserts.
But that’s not all! The upper floor will introduce The Carnaby Tavern, a vibrant table service experience inspired by the ’60s British Invasion, featuring both indoor and patio seating, and a versatile full-service bar that caters to both indoor and outdoor guests. This unique addition promises to elevate the dining experience to new heights.
However, as this transition unfolds, the current Earl of Sandwich location on the east end of Downtown Disney District will eventually close to make way for the highly anticipated Porto’s, set for 2025. Specific opening dates for both the new Earl of Sandwich and Porto’s are yet to be announced.
