Disney fans, brace yourselves! A whirlwind of new attractions and updates are making their way to Disneyland Resort over the next couple of years. During last month’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro unveiled an exciting array of projects under the banner “Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase.” From thrilling new rides in Avengers Campus to a magical reimagining of beloved classics, there’s a lot to look forward to.
One of the highlights? Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, set to open on November 15 at Disneyland just in time for the holiday season. This attraction, replacing Splash Mountain, brings to life the enchanting world of “The Princess and the Frog” during a festive Mardi Gras celebration. Also headed to Main Street, there’s an ingenious new animatronic version of Walt Disney himself that will take the stage in “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” opening in 2025.
Over at California Adventure, the Marvel-themed Avengers Campus is set to double in size, featuring two new thrilling rides starting construction in 2026. Avengers Infinity Defense, featuring the formidable King Thanos, promises to be an adventure-packed addition. That’s not all—another ride, Stark Flight Lab, will immerse visitors in Tony Stark’s high-tech world with pods that simulate flight.
And let’s not forget the whimsical magic of Pixar’s “Coco.” Set to rival the iconic Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean rides, this new attraction will transform guests into the vibrant world of the dead, complete with state-of-the-art audio-animatronics technology. Meanwhile, fans of James Cameron’s Avatar can look forward to a whole new land inspired by “Avatar: The Way of Water,” featuring captivating visuals and a new water-based ride.
