Hello Disney fans! As we march into the magical month of September 2024, it’s important to note which of our favorite Disneyland and Walt Disney World attractions will be taking a brief bow from the stage. With the immense size and numerous experiences across both resorts, it’s always a bit tricky to map out a perfect visit. Let’s dive into what will be closed and the super exciting changes coming our way!
At Walt Disney World, the iconic Jungle Cruise will be on hiatus from August 26 to October 17. This “World Famous” attraction, known for its animatronic animals and witty skippers, promises a memorable 10-minute journey through treacherous waters—perfect for practicing your survival skills! Meanwhile, EPCOT’s high-speed Test Track is undergoing an overhaul which started on June 17. While the reopening date remains a Disney mystery, rest assured the ride will soon return with thrilling updates.
For Disneyland visitors, Space Mountain is set to reopen on September 5—so keep those gravitational feels on hold just a bit longer. Other notable closures include Indiana Jones Adventure, “it’s a small world,” and Jungle Cruise. Each attraction is undergoing various enhancements to ensure they return better than ever. Notably, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is in full swing, with a grand opening anticipated in November 2024. The transformation of Critter Country into Bayou Country is sure to bring a fresh, jazzy vibrance to the park.
Exciting new lands are also on the horizon. Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World is gearing up for a new Monsters Inc. land, complete with Disney’s first suspended roller coaster. Over at Disneyland, Avengers Campus will soon feature Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab—Marvel-inspired attractions poised to sweep fans off their feet. Plus, a new Pandora – The World of Avatar is expected to dazzle as part of Disneyland’s monumental expansion plans.
