If you’re planning to visit the ever-popular Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure, you might want to double-check the snacks you receive. This spooktacular event, beloved for its Halloween-themed entertainment, recently faced some eerie issues as guests reported receiving expired snacks during the festivities.
The Oogie Boogie Bash has become a hallmark of the Halloween season at Disneyland Resort, dazzling guests with its “Frightfully Fun Parade,” Villains Grove, and numerous character appearances. New updates to Mickey and Minnie’s costumes, a larger lineup of event nights, and special appearances from the Family Madrigal of Encanto have heightened excitement this year. However, not all the news has been treats and treasures.
Recently, several attendees shared on social media that they received expired snacks during the event. One guest named Belle posted a photo of Goldfish crackers with an outdated expiration date, humorously questioning whether Disney was using last year’s supply. This isn’t the first time such issues have surfaced at the Oogie Boogie Bash; similar concerns were voiced about Sunchips last year. Although these incidents may seem laughable at first, consuming expired food can lead to serious health issues like food poisoning.
The Halloween-themed event at Disneyland not only features trick-or-treating trails but also immersive treat trail experiences with characters such as the Evil Queen and Oogie Boogie himself. This year, there are nine such trails, offering more opportunities for character interactions and loads of candy. But as fun as they are, it’s crucial for guests to check the expiration dates on the treats they pick up.
Adding to the magic, Disneyland has introduced Villains Grove, an immersive sensory walkthrough experience featuring stunning lighting and special effects in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. This event has quickly become a must-see attraction, drawing Disney villain enthusiasts into its spooky allure.
On a more concerning note, some guests have attempted to sell their event tickets on third-party sites. Disneyland has cautioned against purchasing these resold tickets, as they can be voided, leading to inconvenience and disappointment.
