Disneyland fans, the excitement is reaching fever pitch as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to make its grand debut on November 15! This magical transformation of the classic Splash Mountain promises a vibrant, musical journey inspired by Disney’s beloved first Black princess, Tiana, and her adventurous spirit. Employee previews will kick off in late October, so expect some sneak peeks before the big day.
Visitors will be enchanted by the reimagined log flume ride, which follows Tiana and Louis, the trumpet-playing alligator, as they prepare for a spectacular Mardi Gras celebration. Notably, riders will join Tiana in her quest to find the “Special Spice” essential for the party, making each visitor feel a part of the adventure. The ride will also feature beloved characters like Mama Odie, Prince Naveen, his younger brother Prince Ralphie, and an array of musical bayou critters.
Imagineering has spared no effort, introducing state-of-the-art, all-electric audio-animatronics that bring the animated film to life. Grammy-winning musicians PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard have composed an original soundtrack, including the new song “Special Spice,” ensuring the ride is a feast for the ears.
The transformation extends beyond the ride itself. Critter Country is evolving into Bayou Country, with shops like Louis’ Critter Club and Ray’s Berets offering themed merchandise. Nearby New Orleans Square also sees Tiana’s influence, with the French Market restaurant now reimagined as Tiana’s Palace, serving delectable Creole and Cajun cuisine.
