Disneyland’s Alice in Wonderland Ride experienced a hiccup that certainly surprised guests on August 3rd. Instead of journeying smoothly through Wonderland, Amanda Poole and her fellow riders found themselves abruptly halted in the tunnel adorned with glow-in-the-dark teapots.
From Poole’s video, she sensed an issue early on, exclaiming “Broken” as the carriage doors mysteriously closed between her and the vehicle ahead. The ride reached an unexpected climax when her caterpillar carriage collided with these doors, eliciting a startled scream from Poole: “Oh my God!”
The lights quickly brightened the previously dark tunnel, and an official announcement instructed guests to remain seated. It’s clear that this particular ride malfunction left many visitors momentarily shaken but safe, as Poole narrated her unexpected bumping experience while sporting her Minnie ears.
Since its grand opening in 1958, the Alice in Wonderland attraction has charmed countless visitors, taking them on a whimsical adventure through key scenes from the beloved 1951 Disney film. With a history of updates in 1984 and 2014, the ride remains a distinctive highlight of Disneyland’s Fantasyland.
While the duration of the delay remains unconfirmed, and Disneyland officials have yet to comment, it’s evident that attractions can sometimes have their off days. This incident serves as a gentle reminder of the genuine unpredictability and occasional whimsy of Disneyland, much like Wonderland itself.
