“Disneyland Resort Cast Members Ratify New Contract, Promising Historic Raises and Benefits”

In an incredible show of unity and perseverance, union Cast Members at Disneyland Resort have ratified a promising new three-year contract following extended negotiations. As per Disneyland Resort, the fresh agreements will see a minimum base wage rise to $24 per hour in 2024, eventually reaching $26 per hour. Moreover, Cast Members who have been on board since June 17th, 2024, will receive retroactive pay. Newly hired Cast Members will start at 90% of the base rate during their first 52 consecutive weeks and achieve the full rate following this period, provided there are no interruptions. Longevity pays are also on the table; Cast Members with over 10 years of service will get a $0.50 per hour increase, and those with over 20 years will see a $2.00 per hour boost.

In addition to wages, the contract includes significant changes to attendance policies and enhancements to sick leave—a notable victory highlighted by the Disney Workers Rising Bargaining Committee. They stated, “By ratifying these contracts, Disney cast members have secured historic raises and policies and protections that reflect their role as magic makers in Disney parks.”

The Disneyland Resort expressed satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing, “These agreements, along with all we offer as part of our employment experience, demonstrate how much we value our cast members and our profound commitment to their overall well-being.”
