Congratulations to Jorge Sotelo, Executive Pastry Chef for Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa for winning the 2016 Golden Foodie award for Pastry Chef of the Year! The award, presented by the Orange County, California, Restaurant Association honors chefs, bartenders and dishes in chef-driven and independent restaurants in Orange County.
Carthay Circle Restaurant has added a new dining package, which includes a three-course prix fixe lunch and preferred viewing for Frozen! Live at the Hyperion. The adult menu includes smoked salmon, soup and salad, choice of entrée and “Olaf’s Summer Dream Vacation” dessert, while the children’s menu begins with a watermelon and mango sorbet. Cost is $89 for adults, $59 for children age 3-9. Reservations can be made by visiting Disneyland.com/dining.
In the mood for something sweet? Rocky Road is the Gourmet treat for November at Disneyland Resort. The gourmet apple is dipped in caramel, enrobed in milk chocolate and covered in mini marshmallows before being drizzled with milk chocolate and sprinkled with chopped almonds. Rocky Road marshmallow wands and crispy treats are also available. Find them at Candy Palace on Main Street, U.S.A., and Hunny Spot in Critter Country in Disneyland park; Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure park; and Marceline’s Confectionery in the Downtown Disney District from November 1-30.
The Daily Poutine in the Town Center neighborhood of Disney Springs is now serving up a breakfast-inspired twist of the famous Canadian dish. Fried potato puffs are topped with sausage gravy, Cheddar cheese curds and topped with a fried egg. The best part? Breakfast Poutine is available all day long.
Fans of the Garden View Tea Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will enjoy the location’s latest offering—the Garden View Champagne and Wine Lounge. Enjoy a selection of champagne and wine as well as small plates selected to complement the beverage menu. This new offering is available nightly from 7 to 10 p.m.
Additional dates have been added for the popular Club Villain at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Attention explorers! Quench your thirst for adventure with a new souvenir mug coming soon to Jungle Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom Park. The mug is available with specialty drinks such as Punch Line Punch (tropical fruit juices mixed with mango puree) or the Schweitzer Slush (frozen apple juice mixed with passion fruit juice, topped with bursting green apple boba balls).
Fans of the Patriot’s Platter at Liberty Tree Tavern, rejoice! The popular dish is now available at lunch (11 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.), in addition to dinner. The all-you-care-to-enjoy platter is served with shaved prime rib, roasted turkey breast, carved pork, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb stuffing, house-made macaroni and cheese and a new dessert—Johnny Appleseed’s bread pudding.
