For many Disney fans, the magic begins with that first unforgettable movie. Whether it’s an adventurous tale or a heartwarming classic, these films have a way of staying with us. And if you’re a fan of Ariel’s underwater kingdom, there’s a splashingly fantastic event coming your way!
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of “The Little Mermaid,” D23 is organizing a unique “swim-in” movie screening at the Hansen Dam Aquatic Center in Law View Terrace, California, in collaboration with Street Food Cinema. Picture this: enjoying the beloved underwater adventure of Ariel and friends while leisurely floating in the largest pool in the U.S. It doesn’t get any more immersive than that!
Taking place on June 8th, the event promises more than just a movie. For those who prefer dry land, D23 Members can also access reserved seating areas on the beach. Plus, the special evening includes food trucks, a pre-screening presentation, and a commemorative gift — ensuring a truly memorable experience.
D23 Members can soak up the atmosphere a bit earlier, with entry starting at 5 PM PT. The screening begins at 8 PM PT, complete with a special presentation that dives deep into “The Little Mermaid.” Ticket prices are $35 for D23 Gold Members and $41 for General Members, with a small processing fee attached.
Sadly, another bit of news for Ariel fans is the permanent closure of “The Voyage of the Little Mermaid” show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While it’s sad to see it go, Disney hinted at a new, updated version to come.
