As our thrilling journey through Walt Disney World and Disney video games draws to a close, it’s time to dive into the wonder that is Hollywood Studios’ Galaxy’s Edge. Before we get into the details, make sure you catch up on our previous adventures: exploring Disney Dreamlight Valley in Magic Kingdom, the mystical world of Avatar at Animal Kingdom, and the high-octane action at EPCOT’s Disney Speedstorm.
Our final stop was the highly anticipated Galaxy’s Edge, located in the heart of Hollywood Studios. This immersive land is an absolute must-visit for anyone with even a passing interest in Star Wars. Imagine stepping right into the Star Wars universe, where every nook and cranny is meticulously crafted to transport you to a galaxy far, far away. As a longtime Star Wars aficionado, I found myself utterly spellbound by the sheer authenticity and attention to detail. From the sprawling markets to the atmospheric eateries like Oga’s Cantina, every aspect of Galaxy’s Edge made me feel like I was part of the Star Wars saga.
Hands down, the two standout attractions at Galaxy’s Edge are the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance. Smugglers Run gives you the chance to pilot the iconic Millennium Falcon, working as a team under Hondo Ohnaka’s command to complete a thrilling mission. Walking into that life-size replica of the Millennium Falcon made me feel like a kid again, geeking out over every switch and lever. And yes, I couldn’t resist posing at the Dejarik table, just like Han Solo.
But if there’s one ride that epitomizes the magic of Galaxy’s Edge, it’s Rise of the Resistance. This attraction is a breathtaking blend of storytelling, technology, and immersive experience. I won’t spoil any details – trust me, you need to experience it first-hand. All I’ll say is that by the end of the ride, I was speechless, overwhelmed by the sheer creativity and execution of the entire experience.
This brings us to Star Wars Outlaws, the upcoming open-world game set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Visiting Galaxy’s Edge made it clear why Disney chose this immersive park to showcase the game. If Star Wars Outlaws can capture even a fraction of the atmosphere and excitement of Galaxy’s Edge, it’s bound to be a huge hit. As we gear up to explore new planets and navigate the underworld as a smuggler, the anticipation only grows stronger.
