Gina Torres shines in Disney Junior’s latest animated marvel, “Kindergarten: The Musical.” The newly-released trailer has already enchanted viewers, setting the stage for a colorful blend of Broadway flair and educational storytelling.
In this delightful series, Gina Torres takes on the role of Ms. Moreno, a charismatic kindergarten teacher. The show follows the adventures of 5-year-old Berti (Andrea Rosa Guzman) and classmates Rose (Leah Newman) and Radish (Zander Chin) at Porter Elementary. These young learners experience life’s early lessons through vivid, song-filled episodes.
“Kindergarten: The Musical” uses enchanting Broadway-inspired numbers to spark the vivid imaginations of its young audience. Each episode not only entertains but also explores vital themes such as self-expression, confidence in social interactions, teamwork, and the importance of imaginative play—all through the magic of music.
A talented team of songwriters, including Michelle Lewis, Kay Hanley, Dan Petty (of “Doc McStuffins” fame), and Charlton Pettus (known for his work with Tears for Fears), has crafted over six original songs per episode, spanning various musical styles. The cast also features Aloe Blacc and Ana Isabelle as Berti’s parents, Leona Lewis as Hedgehog Holmes, and Vincent Rodriguez III as Radish’s dad, among others.
