Every two years, Disney fans gather in Anaheim, California, not just to visit Disneyland but to revel in the magic at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. This year’s headliner, the Disney Experiences Showcase, was brimming with exciting announcements for Disney’s beloved parks, kicking off a wave of anticipation!
Josh D’Amaro, Disney Experiences Chairman, took the stage with an array of special guests, including Deadpool, Rita Ora, and Billy Crystal, to reveal thrilling new lands and attractions in the works. Here’s a sneak peek at what you can look forward to at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in the coming years.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Monstropolis from Pixar’s “Monsters, Inc.” comes to life with a brand-new land that features the first-ever suspended coaster in a Disney park. Meanwhile, Magic Kingdom is set to welcome a “Cars” themed area in Frontierland with thrilling rally races and family-friendly attractions. But the most anticipated is the long-whispered Villains Land, promising two major attractions and wickedly delightful dining and shopping experiences.
Animal Kingdom bids farewell to Dinoland, U.S.A., as it transforms into the “Tropical Americas.” This 11-acre expansion will include attractions themed to “Indiana Jones” and “Encanto,” complete with the iconic Casita and a whimsical carousel. And for fans of “Zootopia,” Disney will debut a new show inside Animal Kingdom’s Tree of Life, set to open next winter.
Disneyland won’t be left out of this wave of magic. An “Avatar” themed land will make a splash at Disney California Adventure, featuring a magical boat ride inspired by “Avatar: The Way of Water.” To honor the company’s founder, Walt Disney, an Audio-Animatronic figure will debut in a new show called “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” at Disneyland’s Main Street Opera House.
With so many attractions set to debut across Disney parks, fans worldwide are surely ecstatic. What are you most excited about? Share your thoughts in the comments and let the Disney magic spread!
