Great news for “Phineas and Ferb” fans! Disney+ is bringing back the beloved series with a fresh revival that will continue the boys’ summer adventures. During Disney Television Animation’s presentation at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the co-creators, Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh, revealed that the new series will be set one year after the events of the original show. This revival will act as an unofficial fifth season, packed with 40 exciting episodes, starting with a special musical sequence to set the tone.
Originally airing from 2007 to 2015, “Phineas and Ferb” captured the imaginations of audiences worldwide with its creative plots and witty humor. The show revolves around stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, who embark on grand adventures every day of their summer vacation, much to the annoyance of their older sister Candace. The new series intends to continue this tradition, promising even more inventive projects and hilarious escapades.
Die-hard fans will be thrilled to know that not only is there a fifth season in the works, but a sixth season is also on the horizon, ensuring plenty more Phineas and Ferb content to look forward to. Marsh and Povenmire, who originally conceived the show inspired by their childhood summer experiences, pitched the idea for 16 years before Disney picked it up. The show’s legacy includes winning a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in Animation and multiple Primetime Emmy Awards.
