In what appears to be a magical turn of events for Disneyland Cast Members, The Walt Disney Company has reached an agreement that is being celebrated as a “historic victory” for its employees. After a grueling four-month negotiation period, highlighted by the threat of a strike, Disneyland workers under the Disney Workers Rising union can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

The breakthrough came on July 24th when Disney Workers Rising announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that a tentative agreement had been reached. This triumph was made possible due to the persistent efforts of the union, which represents Disneyland’s ride operators, merchandise staff, parking attendants, and numerous other Cast Members.

The details of this landmark deal became public shortly after, revealing a whopping 31% pay increase over the next three years. This means Disneyland Cast Members will see their hourly wages rise significantly, from $19.90 to $24 in 2024 and $26 by 2026. Those with a decade of service will receive an additional 50 cents per hour, and twenty-year veterans will enjoy an extra $2 per hour.

Commenting on this development, Disneyland officials expressed their satisfaction, emphasizing the company’s dedication to the well-being of its staff. They stated, “We are pleased that our Cast Members approved the new agreements, which, along with all we offer as part of our employment experience, demonstrate how much we value and respect them and our profound commitment to their overall well-being.”

Disneyland Workers Rising also acknowledged the members’ crucial role in securing this agreement, asserting that the deal is a direct result of their collective strength at the bargaining table and in the parks.
