Disney has promoted Rena Langley to SVP of Walt Disney World public affairs and worldwide government and industry relations, the entertainment company said Friday
She will oversee external and internal communications, executive communications, and corporate citizenship for Walt Disney World Resort, the corporation stated via email. Langley will also head up government and industry relations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts worldwide.
Langley was most recently VP of public affairs at Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, and Adventures by Disney. She was responsible for media relations, internal communications, government relations, corporate responsibility, and guest communications, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Langley is replacing Brian Besanceney, who joined Wal-Mart as SVP and chief communications officer at the beginning of April. Besanceney was previously deputy chief of staff to former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, assistant secretary for public affairs in the Department of Homeland Security, and communications director for former Rep. Rob Portman (R-OH).
