Streaming fans, brace yourselves! This October, it will cost a bit more to enjoy your favorite Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ shows in the U.S.
Disney has announced a price hike starting October 17 for its three primary streaming services. Expect a $2 increase for the ad-supported versions of Disney+ and Hulu, raising them to $9.99 per month. For an ad-free Disney+ experience, get ready to pay $15.99 per month. Meanwhile, Hulu’s ad-free plan inches up to $18.99. Even Disney’s Hulu + Live TV plans aren’t immune, with rates climbing to $82.99 for the ad-supported and $95.99 for the ad-free version.
In an exciting twist, Disney+ will soon feature “continuous playlists,” which will enhance the streaming experience. These will debut just before the release of Disney’s third-quarter financial results. Additionally, new curated playlists such as “Seasonal Content,” “Epic Stories,” “Throwbacks,” and “Real Life” are set to roll out later this fall, bringing fresh content delights to Premium subscribers.
Looking to get the most for your buck? The Duo Basic Bundle (with ads) will see a modest $1 increase to $10.99, while the ad-free Duo Premium Bundle stays steady at $19.99. Disney assures us that even with these adjustments, their subscription packages remain some of the best values in streaming.
So, as you prepare your binge-watching schedule for the fall, share your thoughts in the comments about these changes. Will you continue your subscriptions, or are these new prices a dealbreaker? We’d love to hear from you!
