Get ready to sing and dance! Disney Jr. has unveiled its trailer for the new animated series, “Kindergarten: The Musical,” featuring the talented Gina Torres as Ms. Moreno, a kindergarten teacher guiding her young students through the enchanting world of music and imagination.
Join the spirited five-year-old Berti, voiced by Andrea Rosa Guzman, and her adventurous classmates Rose (Leah Newman) and Radish (Zander Chin) at Porter Elementary. Under Ms. Moreno’s tuneful guidance, these budding stars embark on imaginative journeys filled with Broadway-style musical numbers that explore themes such as self-expression, making friends, and the importance of teamwork.
The show not only entertains but also educates, employing catchy songs crafted by a stellar songwriting team. Michelle Lewis, Kay Hanley, Dan Petty, and Charlton Pettus—a dynamic crew who have previously brought the magic to “Doc McStuffins”—lend their musical genius to this vibrant series, promising at least six original songs per episode.
Supporting the lead cast are musical sensations Aloe Blacc and Ana Isabelle as Berti’s Papi and Mami, along with singer-songwriter Leona Lewis as the lovable Hedgehog Holmes, and Vincent Rodriguez III as Radish’s dad. Added to this talented ensemble are Shyam Balasubramanian as Tej, Tandi Fomukong as Abigail, Kailen Jude as Kenji, Randy Perrine as Jamil, and Alice Halsey as Kat and Ellie.
Mark your calendars! “Kindergarten: The Musical” premieres on Disney Jr. at 8:00 a.m. EDT/PDT on September 3, with episodes available on Disney+ the following day. This family-friendly show is set to become a favorite, blending fun and learning in perfect harmony.
