Disney’s D23 Expo at the Honda Center in Anaheim became a dazzling spectacle as Disney’s Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman, Josh D’Amaro, unveiled a series of thrilling new attractions. With performances from stars like Meghan Trainor, Rita Ora, and Pentatonix, the atmosphere was electric.
One of the most buzzworthy announcements was the introduction of Disney Villains Land at Magic Kingdom in Orlando. Featuring dining, shopping, and two major attractions, this new land promises to be a haven for fans of Disney’s most iconic antagonists. “Be prepared, you poor unfortunate souls,” D’Amaro teased, hinting at a daring new venture for Disney Parks.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando will receive a Monsters, Inc.-themed land, complete with the park’s first suspended coaster. Billy Crystal, the voice of Mike Wazowski, humorously recalled his initial encounter with the character’s design, stoking excitement for this immersive Monstropolis experience.
In a major development for Avengers Campus in Disneyland, the area will double in size with two new attractions: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. The return of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark in the latter raised the anticipation to fever pitch. Also, California Adventure is set to welcome an Avatar-themed land inspired by recent and upcoming films.
Disneyland Paris will introduce a Lion King ride as part of its rebranded Disney Adventure World. Guests will join Simba on his journey from cub to king, experiencing the beloved 1994 classic in a whole new light.
Lastly, Disneyland will debut the first audio-animatronic Walt Disney in its new “Walt Disney – A Magical Life” show. Scheduled to open in 2025, this attraction celebrates the visionary founder and is sure to be a nostalgic highlight.
