It is with great pleasure I introduce Manako Tanaka as the 2017-2018 Aulani Ambassador.
Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, blends the rich history and traditions of The Walt Disney Company with the stories, culture and aloha spirit of Hawai`i. In 1965, Walt Disney selected the first Disney Ambassador, Julie Reihm Casaletto, to serve as the official spokesperson and representative ofDisneyland. Manako will serve as an emissary of goodwill and represent Aulani at a variety of events in the community, such as VoluntEARS activities, in the media as an Aulani spokesperson, and at cast recognition ceremonies.
Manako currently works in Front Office at the resort, sharing his wealth of knowledge and passion for Hawaiian culture with guests, members and his cast ‘ohana. He joined Aulani as part of the opening team as a Cultural Greeter, engaging guests and members upon their arrival to the resort. Poeko ‘o ia ma ka ‘olelo Hawai‘i, which means he is fluent in Hawaiian language! Manako was also a Disney College Program participant at Walt Disney World Resort, gaining experience at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
