The Disneyland Resort is gearing up for an incredible milestone—its 70th anniversary in July—and it’s pulling out all the stops to celebrate. This year-long extravaganza will see the return of beloved attractions, brand-new shows, and updates to fan-favorite experiences, all sprinkled with that signature Disney magic.
Kickstarting the celebration on May 16, Disney enthusiasts will be thrilled to see the much-anticipated comeback of the “Paint the Night” parade. Originally introduced for Disneyland’s 60th anniversary, this dazzling spectacle features over a million LED lights and floats honoring timeless franchises like “Toy Story,” “Frozen,” and “Cars.” If you missed it the first time, now’s your chance to see Anna and Elsa, among others, light up the night.
Further entrenching itself in the hearts of long-time fans, “It’s a Small World” is getting an exciting revamp. When it reopens on May 9, guests can look forward to seeing characters from the film “Coco” along with a new verse to the iconic song, penned by original co-composer Richard Sherman. Plus, a new nighttime projection show, “Tapestry of Happiness,” will transform the ride’s facade into an animated mosaic, guaranteed to tug at your nostalgic heartstrings.
Disneyland will also honor its patriarch with “Walt Disney—A Magical Life,” a new show debuting on July 17 at the Main Street Opera House. Featuring the first-ever audio-animatronics figure of Walt Disney, this poignant tribute will highlight his visionary contributions to the park, complemented by an exhibit showcasing never-before-seen artifacts from his era.
Over at Disney California Adventure, a fresh “World of Color” show titled “World of Color Happiness!” will greet visitors. Hosted by Joy from “Inside Out,” this dazzling water-and-light show will spotlight tunes from Disney classics and feature an interactive element where guests can vote for their favorite characters via the Disneyland app.
To top it all off, there’s an enticing ticket offer allowing fans to enjoy these festivities at a slight discount. Three-day passes start at $360, offering a fantastic opportunity to immerse in the 70th-anniversary celebrations without breaking the bank.
