Disneyland has some monumental celebrations up its sleeve, and we couldn’t be more excited! As we edge closer to the park’s grand 70th Anniversary on May 16th, 2025, Disneyland is ramping up the magic with fun additions and behind-the-scenes updates to classic attractions.

One iconic ride that has caught everyone’s attention is “it’s a small world,” and while we can’t wait to see it re-open, it looks like we’ll have to wait just a bit longer. Originally scheduled to welcome guests again on April 25th, 2025, the reopening has now been rescheduled to May 9th, 2025. Why the delay? Disneyland is incorporating fantastic new elements, such as including Miguel and Dante from Pixar’s hit movie “Coco” into the ride’s Mexico scene.

“Coco” has resonated deeply with fans, leading many to clamor for its characters to find a permanent home in Disneyland. Their wish is set to come true as Disneyland incorporates Miguel and his alebrije, Dante, into this beloved classic. Meanwhile, an entirely new “Coco” attraction is also in the pipeline for Disney California Adventure. But that’s not all—the beloved “it’s a small world” anthem will feature a brand-new verse written by the legendary Sherman Brothers, enhancing the whimsical ride experience.

This new verse, celebrating unity and the love that binds humankind, is expected to debut by July 17th, 2025, and we can only imagine how beautifully it will complement the timeless melody we all know and love. Though delays are never ideal, these enriching updates promise an even more enchanting journey through “it’s a small world.”
